Siouxon Creek

This is a sweet trail in SW Washington. We had about a week of on and off rain so conditions we're perfect.Helmet cam'd the kid's so that was fun. I was pretty tired at the end, but it was a good time. Jim's cat was a stow away on the under carriage of my van and it was waiting for us when we finished the ride. Crazy. That stupid cat rode under my van for 38 miles. Weird.

Willamette Pass DH race #2

Went back to Willamette Pass for the 2nd DH race. Conditions were worse. The trail was even more loose. Like 6 to 7 inches of sand dirt in corners and a whole lot of braking bumps. This time heading down it was The Red Raja, East coast Eric and myself. We hit the course a few times and then E.C.E. and i checked out a trail no one was riding. Wow! it was awesome. It start off with lot's of loose lava rocks then into the woods then straight down for about 500 feet. Rock garden followed by long loose dirt sections to another rock section. Crazy. We we're laughing a lot. Towards the end it opened up and we we're going so fast i started to get nervous. When we got to the bottom we grabbed a hand full of racers from our camp and said " Come with us" They loved the trail too. Well...except one guy. The race went bad for me. Crashed early on and couldn't get it back. E.C.E. got 3rd Raja got 5th and i just got dirty. Phil who races for the shop got 1st again in Semi-pro. Also got to see pro's Sven and Anka Martin race. That was awesome. Really fast even with a broken finger. Fun time though. Thanx to the Hawaiians for the great Bar-b-q on Sat night.

The 5th annual Glade run

5 years ago (or so) i found out about a trail on Mt Hood called the Glade. I had been looking for trails, as i was kinda new to the sport. I read online about some guys ridding the glade to Crosstown trail to Pioneer bridal trial. Then i found it in my trail books. I really wanted to ride this trail. It seemed like a good idea to ride down from the mountain. I had been riding with Terry for a while and i told him i thought we should head up to Timberline early on the 4th and ride this trail. As usual he said " ok" .It was Me, Terry and his Brother in-law. It was a great ride and i was bleeding right away. The next year it was me, Terry, Jamie and Ross. Jamie crashed down a rocky hillside that year and almost broke his leg. The next year Jon and Ryan rode and one of them broke a chain and one crashed on the upper section. Which one? i forget. Bernie rode too. Last year was crazy fun with Dave and Ryan and the usual suspects. Dave got a flat but no carnage asada. This year was looking to be a gong show with all the people that said they we're coming. It turned out great though. 30 people in the pic and 4 took off before we got there (Craig). I got dbl flats in about 100 yards, and so did Dave. Weird. That was lame but not enough to ruin the ride. Bernie helped me with the flat's and then we ripped the trail. Great day!! I even met some people new to ME ( Andy and a few others) My 9 y/o Otto rode most of the trail with Terry's wife and son. He had a fun time too.Next year should be even better. Thanks to everyone who rode.

The pic's are from the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th ride's. ( the 1st wasn't digi)

Willamette Pass DH race #1

Headed east of Oakridge a couple of days ago to the DH race at Willamette pass. Bernie,Casey and i raced the sport class and had a good time. The course was really rough and had a lot of sandy dirt sections. My leg still hurt from the pounding i gave them. Phil and Brad who ride for Trailhead ( semi pro) got first and second. that was cool. Casey and Bernie rode well but i made too many mistakes and crashed a couple of times. I think i was 6th maybe. Anyway...there's nothing better than riding your bike all day and sleeping in the gravel at night.
